Sport at DSG teaches our girls fair play, co-operation and self-discipline while promoting a healthy lifestyle and all girls are required to take an active role in the sports programme.
In the summer term the girls may participate in swimming, water polo, squash, tennis and synchronised swimming.
During the winter girls are encouraged to take part in one team sport: hockey or netball. They may still continue with squash or tennis.
All girls take part in athletics in the third term and the inter-house meet during our Balloon Week is one of the highlights of the term.
Horse riding is also regarded as a school sport, although it is not offered on campus but at the local pony club.

Archery and Olympic air rifle shooting is done jointly with St Andrew’s College.
The excellent games facilities include a floodlit artificial hockey field (Webster Field), a comprehensive gymnasium, nine tennis courts, two netball courts, two grass hockey pitches, a swimming pool and four glass-backed squash courts. Teams compete widely against other schools.
The Pavilion, which overlooks our sports fields, is a popular meeting place for parents during and after sports events.
